Total and Permanent Disablement Cover is Asteron Life's "Modify Your Lifestyle" insurance. TPD insurance protects you against the financial implications of a debilitating long-term illness or injury. If you are no longer able to work, it offers you a lump sum payment which can be used to help you adapt to your new circumstances.
You can buy Asteron Life Complete Total and Permanent Disablement Cover as a standalone policy, or linked with a Life Cover policy held inside or outside of your superfund. You can even choose to split your TPD Cover and hold a portion the benefits within your super.
All Asteron Life Complete insurance products include a number of built-in benefits. For TPD Cover these include worldwide cover, automatic increases to the amount of your insurance each year in line with inflation and the right to increase your cover without medical investigation if your financial circumstances change. Asteron Life will also automatically pass on any enhancements they make to their TPD Cover over time, as long as these don't increase your premiums.
Additional features (for an increased premium) include the right to buy back any linked Life Cover if you make a claim and the option to add Child Cover of up to $200,000, with Asteron Life providing the first $10,000 of Child Cover for free.
